Create a Car Unexpected Movement Alarm notification

This notification alerts users when the car is moved while the engine is off.

To create a Car Unexpected Movement Alarm notification using the Alarm.com app:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. TapAdd.
  6. Tap to expand Use A Template.
  7. In Cars, tap to select Car Unexpected Movement Alarm.
  8. Enter the desired name for the notification rule.
  9. In When unexpected movement is reported by, tap to select if Any Car or a Specific Car should trigger the notification.
  10. In Recipients, tap Add to choose notification recipients.
  11. Tap the entries in the Address book that are to be notified, or tap Add Contact to add a new Address Book entry.
  12. Tap Close.
  13. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  14. Tap Save.

To create a Car Unexpected Movement Alarm notification using the Alarm.com customer website:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Notifications.
  3. Click New Notification.
  4. Click Cars.
  5. Click Car Unexpected Movement Alarm.
  6. Enter the desired name for the notification rule.
  7. In When unexpected movement is reported by, click to select if Any Car or a Specific Car should trigger the notification.
  8. In Recipients, click Add to choose notification recipients.
  9. Click the entries in the Address book that are to be notified, or click New to add a new Address Book entry.
  10. Click Close.
  11. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  12. Click Save.
