Create a Car Started Alert notification

This notification alerts users when the car's engine is turned on.

To create a Car Started Alert notification using the Alarm.com app: 

  1. Log into the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. TapAdd.
  6. Tap to expand Use A Template.
  7. In Cars, tap More.
  8. Tap to select Car Started Alert.
  9. Enter the desired name for the notification rule.
  10. In When any of these cars is started, tap to select which car should trigger the notification.
  11. In During this time frame, tap to select either:
    • At all times to receive a notification every time the car is started. 
    • Only during the following times to specify a specific time to receive notifications when the car is started. 
  12. In Recipients, tap Add to choose notification recipients.
  13. Tap the entries in the Address book that are to be notified, or tap Add Contact to add a new Address Book entry.
  14. Tap Close.
  15. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  16. Tap Save.

To create a Car Started Alert notification using the Alarm.com customer website:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Notifications.
  3. Click New Notification.
  4. Click Cars.
  5. Click Car Started Alert.
  6. Enter the desired name for the notification rule.
  7. In When any of these cars is started, click to select which car should trigger the notification.
  8. In During this time frame, click to select either:
    • At all times to receive a notification every time the car is started. 
    • Only during the following times to specify a specific time to receive notifications when the car is started. 
  9. In Recipients, click Add to choose notification recipients.
  10. Click the entries in the Address book that are to be notified, or click New to add a new Address Book entry.
  11. Click Close.
  12. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  13. Click Save.
